Murray County Wetland Restoration

The restoration completed on this easement included in-stream and floodplain restoration of a small unnamed tributary to the Conasauga River, as well as restoration of a wetland slough and installation of a shallow water stream crossing. Restoration activities helped improve hydrologic function, reduce streambank erosion, and slow sediment transport within the watershed. The wetland slough restoration reestablished valuable wetland habitat and improved the property’s ability to store and filter floodwaters during high flow events. Together, these practices have significantly enhanced water quality, improved aquatic and wetland habitat, and increased the overall ecological function of the watershed
