Campbell County Wetland Restoration

The restoration on this easement included the creation of two shallow water ponds, the plugging of multiple drainage ditches, the identification and decommissioning of drain tiles, and the planting of 80 acres of bottomland hardwoods. These restoration practices created valuable wetland habitat within the Elk Valley, where wetlands have been significantly reduced due to historic agricultural activities. Since completion of the project, the landowner has reported numerous migratory waterfowl species utilizing the restored habitat on the easement.
